In the last decade, driven by the Expo, the city has undergone rapid vertical development with the construction of some of the most beautiful skyscrapers in Italy, giving it an international allure.<\/p>

Next to the historic Pirelli skyscraper<\/strong>, known as the Pirellone, the completely redeveloped Porta Nuova district has seen the construction of the Palazzo della Regione Lombardia<\/strong>, with its slender lines, alongside the Torre Gioia 22<\/strong>, nicknamed the “glass shard” for its inverted pyramid shape; the rounded Torre Unicredit<\/strong> with its distinctive spire; the Torre Solaria<\/strong>, the tallest residential building in Italy; the famous Bosco Verticale <\/strong>by architect Stefano Boeri, dripping with lush greenery; and the Torre Diamante <\/strong>by BNP Paribas, recognizable by its oblique top.<\/p>

Finally, end your visit in Piazza Gae Aulenti<\/strong>, which, with its perfectly circular shape and fountains featuring water and light displays, has been named one of the most beautiful squares in the world by the Landscape Institute.<\/p>
