Dining in Milan near your hotel

In Milan the gastronomic offer is really wide. From the small restaurant with typical cuisine to the glamorous places on the rooftop, from oriental cuisine restaurants to vegetarian bistros, from the Neapolitan pizzeria to the starred restaurants, you are really spoiled for choice.

If you are looking for some restaurant near the hotel, Best Western Hotel City has prepared a small selection of places all within a 5/10 walk.

Let's start with a classic Milanese restaurant in the Lima area: the “Osteria Mamma Rosa” in Piazza Cincinnato. Here the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming with very comfortable seats and cheerful views of the most beautiful Italian cities. The cuisine ranges between the seas and lands of Italy, with a predilection for fish cooked according to regional recipes; there are also some Milanese recipes. The chef Valerio Stumpo tries to propose a refined cuisine with home-made flavors, with a diligent and attentive service.

If you want to try the typical Lombard cuisine, “Non solo lesso” is an excellent choice. You eat in a rustic, well-kept and welcoming environment, surrounded by bottles of wine and a few pieces of modern antiques. On the menu you will find the traditional Milanese dishes: ossobuco, cutlet, boiled meat, gorgonzola and polenta but also other local specialties, such as Piacentine candies, the typical curled lean ravioli, up to the tasty pizzoccheri of Valtellina. A three-minute walk from the hotel!

If you are craving meat, the “Quarta Carbonaia” restaurant is an institution for the inhabitants of the area. It is a traditional restaurant that recalls a tavern with fast and attentive service. Here the specialty is meat: Florentine, grilled ribs, fillet and especially the “tagliata”, served in thin slices. Combine the meat with one of the vegetable or potato side dishes, add some good wine and that's it!

We come now to the pizza. If you are looking for the Neapolitan tradition, the “Piccola Ischia” pizzeria in Via Morgagni will satisfy your tastes: thin base with beautiful cornice. There are all the classic pizzas and others with more particular combinations and strong flavors such as “gagliarda” (Cherry tomatoes, scamorza cheese, eggplant, mozzarella cheese, zucchini flower, spicy salami, oil, parmesan). Inside they have recreated a typically Neapolitan scenographic environment complete with Pulcinella and Maradona. Informal and cheerful.

If, on the other hand, you want to try a gourmet pizza, in Via Melzo there is “Cocciuto”, a modern place with a large space inside in an urban chic style. Here you will find refined regional ingredients combined even unexpectedly: san marzano tomatoes, violet aubergines, nubia garlic. Thin base and high and soft edge, very light and digestible dough (you can eat a whole pizza without effort).

If you want to taste a delicious “carbonara” in Milan, just a few minutes' walk from the hotel is "Ponte Milvio", a small restaurant serving Roman cuisine with an outdoor terrace, on the pretty and pedestrianized Via Spallanzani. Inside, you can eat in an informal atmosphere with an open kitchen, a traditional menu with tasty first courses.

Are you looking for something even more special? Ask our receptionists, they will be able to listen to you and advise you in the best way!
